/Amath, dear. It must be past midnight, can't you TRY to sleep? I know you are to rise soon, but please, if you can not even try to sleep, I will never get rest. And I have to be somewhat awake for my duties tomorrow./ Celestia's voice was kind yet somewhat annoyed, as well as tired, as it rang through her Silver's mind. The great Queen paced about her Weyr, constantly shuffling her wings. Her hide gleamed a shade of silver it had never reached before.
Cele frowned at her Bonded. Truth be told, she had no idea as to when Amath would rise, as she was the only full grown of her kind right now. There was no way to guess, when she was the first of her rank to reach the age to Fly. For a long time, some even speculated that she might not Rise at all, since she was a bit past the normal age a Gold would Rise. But lately it had become clear that she would indeed Rise, when was more of the question.
-I must hunt....- The Silver suddenly replied, coming to the ledge outside her Weyr. She turned to glance at her Rider, and the Weyrwoman caught sight of purple quickly spreading through her whirring eye colours. Cele paled, standing so quickly she got dizzy and stumbled. /Dear, did you HAVE to do this in the middle of the night?/ Cele asked, panicked, as her Bonded took to the sky. -CeleMine, it is time. So do not panic.- The Queen crooned as she winged over the Weyr, heading for the hunting grounds.
Within moments much too short, in Cele's opinion, Amath had already caught and blooded five herdbeasts. The Weyrwoman knew it would only be a small matter of time before her mind joined her Bonded's, and all her senses would be lost and she would be flying over the Weyr with Amath. Quickly she got up and hurried to the entrance to her Weyr, with half a mind to shut herself in the lower Caverns and not let anyone in. Yes, she was frightened. She had never so much as had sex before, let alone experienced something even NEAR what she was about to go through.
But no, it was too late. Amath was done feeding, and over the Weyr now. With a bugle to call the Onyx's to her, she hovered in the air only moments longer, just enough to be sure she would have both of the Onyxs chase her, before she was off, set for a flight to match any Gold's.

Though it was late and he was practically dead on his feet, C'ero was still in the infirmary at this hour trying to come up with a way to make the Weyrlings understand that deep chest wounds were not to be taken lightly. That girl Kisana was going to kill herself if she kept acting as recklessly as she was, what with her wounds hardly healed. If he had to stitch her up one more time, there would be trouble. Maybe he'd have her scrub the infirmary every day until her wounds healed just to show her how serious he was. For Faranth's sake, she could bleed to death if she wouldn't watch what she was doing, and where would that leave her poor Diamond? Dead, that's where. It amazed him how stupid these kids could be...
/I thought it was the dragons who were adgitated before a Flight./ Sephiroth commented wryly from where he lay outside the infirmary. Whereas his rider was ready to fall asleep where he sat despite his unease, the Onxy was wide awake. He had been sleeping all day, after all, so there was little reason for him to be sleeping now, not when Amath could rise at any time. He expected that some of his rider's unease had come from the conversation he had with Amath's Mine the other day in the jungle, but His had never been one to dwell on such things. /Nothing will go wrong, Mine. Just stay away from that dreadful V'rel./ He did not fear the Wingleader or his pitiful dragon, but with him in the air, there was no telling what the other would do to His.
"Thanks for that, Seph." C'ero replied, but that didn't allay his misgivings much. So much was up in the air, especially with only two Onyx's in the weyr and Seph being cunning and vicious enough to kill the competition if he felt threatened. His uncommon worrying was all for naught as the obvious sounds of the Queen blooding her kill reached Sephiroth. His head shot up from where it had been laying on his paws as he looked for the Silver. Spying her in the distance, he lifted himself to his feet and, after stretching his wings in preparation, lifted into the sky with a great bugle of triumph.
/Wait, let me find Celestia first!/ C'ero called as he shot out of the infirmary, well aware of the dragonlust that hovered at the edges of his mind. It was only a matter of time before it took over, but if Sephiroth could only wait until he found the Weyrwoman, everything would be good. Fortunately, it didn't take the Weyrhealer to find the woman, but he stayed well out of reach, but within her sight. He wanted to have a quick escape route should Sephiroth lose(all hell would break loose if he did) but to still be close if he won. Without speaking, Sephiroth bugled again as he circled near Amath, eyes whirling a deep purple as he waited for her to take off. When she did, he was right behind her, following her like a moth follows light.

V'rel had been sleeping. He didn't have any extra duties to do, and he was currently in a bit of a nervous breakdown over Amath's upcoming flight. This was actually the first time he'd been able to fall asleep peacefully in days. Even Kaloath had fallen asleep, and the two of them were soundly sleeping together, V'rel's dreams undisturbed.... until he began to feel strange. Or perhaps, it wasn't him. It was Kaloath. While the dreaming V'rel didn't notice the change in Kaloath's mood, the dragon certainly did. The Onyx was wide awake now... but V'rel was still sleeping. Not for long, though, as Kaloath's overwhelming emotions were soon enough to break any man's dreams. "W-what are you doing... Kaloath..." he muttered, opening an eye warily. And then..... oh Faranth.
Luckily, V'rel managed not to throw up and pulled himself from his bed, rubbing his eyes and trying to wake up. The flight. Amath was rising. Shards shards shards shards shards what was he supposed to do?! Kaloath had never rose before. He was confused, and the man's extreme fear of sex was keeping him from embracing the dragonlust. All those feelings in the back of his mind did was bring back old memories of... the last time he had to. No, he hadn't WANTED to, it had been... forced. And V'rel did NOT want to go through with something again. Kaloath was pacing now, and even V'rel's intense fear of what was about to come was drowned out by his want to rise after Amath. He... loved her, and he didn't want Sephiroth to catch her! Ever! V'rel shuddered involuntarily, but managed to drag on the same outfit he had been wearing yesterday. Mine, I must go. I have to, Kaloath finally said, and V'rel simply nodded. Let me find C-Celestia, V'rel's horrible memories were even making his mind-voice studder.
Without waiting for Kaloath's response, V'rel bolted from his weyr, trying to keep those feelings to the back of his mind. He wasn't ready, he wasn't he wasn't! As he ran, in an attempt to stop himself from throwing up, he was cursing his lungs out, probably waking up half the Weyr, but he really didn't care. He had to find Celestia... even though he half didn't want to. But that was for the best, you know, in case the dragonlust took over his mind while he was trying to hide somewhere and he ended up... doing some things he would definitely regret later. Or not remember until he was 50. Either way, V'rel did not want it to happen, so he kept running towards where he figured Celestia would be. The very distraught man managed to find her as quickly as possible, though after C'ero had. However, he hadn't seen C'ero and had actually almost ran into him, but managed to avoid a collision by skidding to a halt rather ungracefully. He chose a spot on the other side, as far away from C'ero he could get as humanly possible while still being within good range of the exit and Celestia. He didn't even look at the other man, though he clenched his fists, trying not to let any rage build up. Hey, at least he wasn't a terrified wreck anymore... though this probably wasn't much better.
Kaloath had taken off into the air after Amath, and was managing to ignore Sephiroth the best he could. You look dazzling tonight, Amath, he complimented with a croon. He disliked loud, claimful bugles, they just seemed arrogant, and he knew V'rel wouldn't like it, especially since V'rel's mind was finally starting to merge with his own. Kaloath certainly was much smaller than Sephiroth, but his larger wings and smaller body made him extremely agile in the air, though with less stamina. As Kaloath had never actually been in a flight, he wasn't quite sure how long he could last after this Silver, and since no Silvers had ever rose before, he had no idea how long her flight would last, but that didn't matter. All that mattered right now was the silver beauty flying through the sky in front of him, and he was going to be the one to catch her.

Cele's mind had merged with Amaths now, although somewhat reluctantly. Cele was still frightened, although Amath seemed perfectly at ease. The silver turned to greet the Onyxs, flying under Kaloath and over Sephiroth with a croon of greeting. She had been waiting for this for a long time, and she was not going to let them catch her without a good amount of effort on both their parts. She gave a short glance to each of them, calculating, before she took off again, coasting along on air currents in the night, hide gleaming like a star.
-Come, Kaloath, Sephiroth. Catch me. If you can.- And she gave a sweep of her wings, speeding off. Being her first flight, she would probably not be able to keep these type of antics up for long, but she was determined to have some fun. And while Cele's mind was one with hers, the Weyrwoman left the choice completely up to her bonded. The feeling of being one with her dragon was certainly calming, but still a tingle of fear lingered in the back of their mind.
Another powerful sweep of their wings, and the Silver was heading straight up in the air, rising as high as she could above the males. Yes, there were only two here to chase her. But she could still have fun, and make them work. Both of them were worthy, perhaps as much alike as they were different. She would test them now, and see which one deserved her more.
(Sorry, thats a bit short. x.x)

They were more one than they had ever been, Sephiroth and C'ero, and now they were going to fight for what was theirs. Frankly, C'ero was unused to the sensation and, pitifully enough, was a virgin despite his looks, but he could draw strength from his dragon as needed. Sephiroth was going to support him as he would support Sephiroth and, together, they would be the victors should Amath see it firt.
To start with, Sephiroth was simply experimenting with the currents, trying to figure out how the wind was blowing and where. It would help him in the flight immensely, but he wasn't going to simply ride the currents beforehand. /The moon should be envious of you, dear Amath, as stunning as you look tonight, as it should every night./ Flattery was his thing, but he was going to follow up with a fierce display of aerial skill that was going to PROVE that HE was the better dragon.
The opportunity came none to soon as the Silver flew straight up into the air. The wind rushed past his powerful wings as he launched himself upward after her, his powerful forelimbs tucked close to his body as to reduce air resistance while spreading his massive wings as far as they would go.

V'rel was trying to keep his mind for as long as he could, and was actually resisting merging with Kaloath. He was scared of what was going to HAPPEN, and even Kaloath's passion wasn't enough for V'rel to merge with Kaloath completely. They were almost there, but there was still that one part of V'rel's mind where he wasn't so... into it. Hey, being traumatized really... well, traumatizes a guy. However, the lust finally took over his distraught mind and pulled the two of them together as one, though they probably were the least together out of the three, but hey, at least he did it.
Kaloath felt a surge of passion as she said his name first... even if the order was probably meaningless. Besides, Sephiroth, who was that? He didn't exist. It was just him and Amath, the two of them, flying together through the sky.... But still, that wasn't actually true, and the rather small Onyx flapped his oversized wings once more to catch a draft, his eyes on Amath for any movements. He was ready for anything, and even the V'rel part of their mind was getting into it, if only to defeat Sephiroth and C'ero.
As Amath rose, Kaloath swiftly followed, flapping his wings a few time, though keeping a distance. She was only beginning her flight, he didn't want to seem to egar, you know. He would know just the right time to swoop in and catch her, and then he'd show the weyr that bigger wasn't necessarily better. The more they flew on as one, the more V'rel stopped trying to resist the emotions and just let them wash over his mind and fly with Kaloath. V'rel was certainly going to dislike whatever the outcome of this flight was, if he ended up remembering it or not. But that was not important. The only important thing right now was well, the Silver that flew so gracefully through the night skys. The dark sky made her even more dazzling, and it made the Onyx even more determined to catch her. With another flap of his wings he moved a little closer towards her, flying straight up after her.

Amath gave a soft croon as the Onyxs followed her up, turning around to face them for a brief second before folding her wings and dropping straight down in less of a dive and more of a free fall. Dropping as close as she could to the ground as possible without crashing, she opened her wings at the last possible second and skim along the ground. Her tail-tip cut a line through the long grass.
Coming to a line of trees she gave a strong flap of her wings, rising just above the tree's branching reaching up at her. She snaked her head around to look back to where the Onyxs followed. So different, yet so much the same. Oh, who would they choose? The Cele part of their mind was of no help with this choice either.
Certainly their breathing was still even, and not labored hardly at all, but their last few stunts had taken much out of them. They must make this a good long flight to have a large clutch, to fill this Weyr. So they rose to ride an air current, flicking their tail at the Onyxs teasingly.

A frightening draconic grin crossed Sephiroth's face as he hovered in the air where Amath had been only moments before. Ah, what a jewel she was, so quick and clever with her attempts to weary him before his time. She wasn't clever enough to outwit him, or at least she wasn't showing it yet. In any case, he had to follow after her and keep up, all while avoiding a collision with Kalaoth. The stupid beast, he seemed determined to get in his way and keep him from his goal. He'd better stay away or he'd find himself missing a limb.
Folding his wings, the Onyx dropped from the sky in much the same fashion as Amath had, his body streamlined for the quick descent. He wasn't wasting any energy on this drop, this exhilarating fall that sent the mind whirling and the adrenaline and lust pumping. He could feel the wind rushing past him, caressing his sides and grabbing at his wings... but he would show them. At the last possible second, he snapped his wings open and flicked his tail, propelling himself into a highly embellished and completly unecessary horizontal spiral, but he had to show off a bit if he wanted to gain Amath's attention. This may have only been his first Flight, but he wasn't stupid at any rate and knew how to woo a female.
Skimming the trees, he rose a bit higher to ride the air currents that flowed about his body and lifted underneath his massive wings to carry him ever faster after the teasing vixen that flew before him. Ah, how lovely she was, yet she was strong and cunning too, the perfect mate for him. His desired the Silver's rider, even if a man would have satsfied him more. She was good company for His and they could be friendly even if the bonds of love that could bind the dragons did not affect them. Lifting his voice in a hardly heard croon, Sephiroth veered to the left slightly to follow Amath without sitting in her wake.

Kaloath hadn't been surprised at the dive, in fact, he had been expecting it. Why else would she fly straight up like that? He was able to stop mid-flight and drop easily, due to his smaller form. But he was still ignoring and staying far from Sephiroth. He didn't doubt that the other Onyx would attack him if he felt threatened. And while Kaloath was going to win, he was also being smart. It didn't matter exactly where they were, what mattered was who impressed Amath the most, and Kaloath was determined to.
He added a bit of a spin to his dive, though that could have been mostly out of excitement as the wind rushed past him. He smoothed down as he neared the ground, snapping his wings out, letting the tips of his wings barely graze the ground as he pushed off to get a little higher. He noticed Sephiroth's attempt to show off, but kept himself the same. He would show how agile and smooth he was in the air when Sephiroth wasn't trying to hog all the spotlight... which was never, and he was going to have to assert himself soon, something that both V'rel and Kaloath weren't very good at.
There was no doubt about Kaloath's feelings for Amath, he had loved her since he had first seen her. There was still V'rel, whose phobia was getting a little annoying, but that didn't bother Kaloath, or even the V'rel part of their mind anymore. They were going to win, and they were going to get both Amath and Celestia's hearts. The smaller Onyx followed Amath up the air current, watching her carefully for a sign of what she was going to do. The flight was far from over, and they still had time to show that they were the superior choice.

Amath gave a contented hum at the Onyxs attempts to win her favor. She turned suddenly looping up and around to come up behind the onyxs now with another hum, this time almost laughter. -Ah, you are both so wonderful! But which of you is better?- Even the Celestia part of their mind was begining to enjoy this, as they wove about the air with the Onyxs following, all the while trying to decide which pairing would be better. This was not just about them, either. While they had the choice, whomever they chose would become Weyrleader. It was so much more then what they would want.
Ah, but who did they want? Both pairings were good choices, both for the Weyr and them. But which was better? This was going to be a hard decision, but they were going to have to choose between the two. Sweet Kaloath, and powerful Sephiroth. Yes, this was indeed going to be a hard choice for Them.
Changing direction, their tail flicked right in front of both the Onyxs before they were off again, back almost the way they had come. While she wasn't trying to completely shake them off she was certainly hoping to test how well they were paying attention. She gave one powerful stroke of her wings, now breathing a bit heavier then when she had started out. She rose a bit further above the ground, riding on another air current to save a bit of energy.

Smirking, Sephiroth could tell that His was getting edgier by the second. Well, this was a new development. Did C'ero actually want Amath's rider as much as he wanted Amath? It was odd, but when he considered the amount of time they had spent together and how well they got along, it wasn't such an absurd notion. Rather, it made much more sense to the Onyx who though he knew everything about His inside and out. Well, it just proved that you learn something new every day, and it was obvious that His wanted him to win quite badly. It was a good thing that Sephiroth wanted to win just as badly, or else he wouldn't be putting the time or effort into this Flight. He only spent time on people or dragons he thought worth it, and Amath was one of the few who was worth it. The fact that she was the only grown Silver in the weyr didn't have any weight in this.
As Amath changed directions yet again, Sephiroth was shaken from his musings as he looped around to follow her. She was testing them for everything, wasn't she? He snorted and rose to ride an air current as he felt his endurance beginning to fade. Oh, he wasn't going to drop out this early, not even if something terrible happened to His. C'ero would just have to wait for the end of the Flight for his help. Besides, His was a healer and he could figure it our for himself. In his mind's eye, he could see him hovering even closer to Celestia than he had been before which gave Sephiroth a boost of confidence(not that he needed it). If his was that confident... Desciding to spend a bit more of his energy, he flapped his wings in an effort to follow Amath a bit closer. He closed the distance between himself and the Sliver, making sure to leave room for them both to maneuver should there be a problem. From there, he began riding currents as they came, trying to preserve his energy for the rest of the Flight.

Kaloath didn't respond to Amath's question, it was pretty much a rhetorical question, and he certainly didn't want to seem arrogant and say he was better... even though he was. Sephiroth was just mean. V'rel was starting to get into it, though far less than the others. He still had that phobia, and he was still... well, shy. But he wanted to help Kaloath, so he was giving the dragon all his strength... or well, whatever the riders did during flights without passing out. Although it was probably only V'rel who felt like he was about to pass out, and it probably wasn't normal, but it's not like Kaloath or V'rel knew or cared. V'rel hadn't moved from his side of the room, even though C'ero had gotten closer. He was... embarassed and scared. What if they lost and he was too close? He really didn't want to get caught in the middle, especially since C'ero would probably just punch him out of the way anyway.
Despite his doubtfulness, V'rel's conflicted mind still wanted to win, if only to make Kaloath happy. The smaller Onyx had been watching Amath, his eyes were fixed completely on her, as if there was nothing else in the entire world but the Silver that flew in front of him. As Amath flew back the way they came, Kaloath was ready. While he was a bit taken aback, he still managed to flip around with a bit of a spin, using his large wings to propel himself around. A little flair never hurt anyone, and besides, he needed to show Amath that he was a much more agile flyer.
Of course, this flight couldn't go on forever. Kaloath was beginning to tire as well, but he wasn't going to drop out until he either won... or lost. He was sticking this out as far as he could go, and that was going to be until the end. With another flap of his wings Kaloath found a nice little air current, but still kept his watch on Amath, in case she were to spin around and head back the other way again.

Again Amath changed course, heading off over the trees in another direction. She rose a bit more, catching an air current. Gliding along, she glanced once more back at the males chasing her. She was tiring. Not badly, but enough that too much more would affect how long she could keep going once she had chosen between the two Onyxs chasing her. She tucked her wings a bit, slowly just a tad to allow the Onyxs to come closer, if they so chose. She noticed that Sephiroth already had, and the small piece of Celestia that was still in her body noted that C'ero had as well. Their joined minds filled with a mixture of surprise and amusement. That pair appeared to want to win more then they had let on before.
Amath rolled in the air as she flew, letting what little light there was sparkle off her hide. A taunting flick of her tail was given to the Onyxs. With yet another glance back at them, she moved even higher, though nowhere near as high as she had flown before he dive. She was simply gaining height again. A soft croon was given to the Onyxs as she flew, still going just a bit slower then before, giving both of them an opportunity to come closer, almost a dare to them. Would they come, showing they were willing to take the risk at getting closer, or stay back?
She stretched her wings out a bit, gliding along almost at ease now. This Flight was very close to coming to an end, and with them still trying to decide who to choose? Yet another glance was given back to the Onyxs, eyes first resting on Sephiroth, then Kaloath. Why was this such a hard decision? A mental sigh came from their joined minds, as they debated over who to choose, still gliding along.

Amath was starting to tire, he could tell, just by the way she was flying. Changing course again was just another way for her to test them, to tire them before she did. Well, she was sadly mistaken. He was still strong and lean(he wouldn't admit that his wings were starting to hurt) and fast. He would keep going long after she finished. He could fly to the moon and back and still be able to fly! He growled a bit as the C'ero part of his mind ordered him to stop boasting and focus on the flight. He was only boasting to himself, after all, but the ultimate boast would be to WIN and to show V'rel and Kalaoth how much stronger they were. They HAD to win!
This amusing little development caused Sephiroth to snort. So his really DID want to win, quite badly at that. He thought His preferred men, but it seemed as though Celestia had captured his heart just as Amath had taken the Onyx's. Well, in that case, there was absolutely no reason for them to lose! They had everything going for them except the interfearing Kalaoth and V'rel, but all they had to do was impress Amath and no one else.
Snorting, Sephiroth spent just a bit more of his enegry to come closer to Amath. She seemed to be slowing up just for that purpose, so he would gladly oblige her. Slowing a bit himself, he maneuvered so that he was flying slightly above the Silver, her tail within his grasp. So close was he that, if he had a death wish, he could have simply plucked her out of the air right then and there. However, he wouldn't force himself upon her. For all his arrogance, pride and vanity, Sephiroth was noble at heart and would never willingly do such a thing. Instead, he crooned his love song back to her, waiting for a sign to move in and take his prize.

Kaloath was ready as Amath changed directions again, he had been right when he figured she was going to change directions again to test them. He was beginning to tire himself, but he was going to keep flying even if it killed him. That Sephiroth kept moving in on Amath as though she was his already. Kaloath wasn't going to let that happen. He needed to learn some sharding subtly. All being pushy got was... well... rethinking this, Kaloath figured he might as well start moving in as well. He wasn't going to be pushy, of course, but he had to try harder, especially when faced with a foe like Sephiroth. Neither V'rel or Kaloath were willing to give up without a fight, and it was all to win the lovely Amath and Celestia. Even V'rel was starting to move a little closer to Celestia, though he kept feeling that horrible phobia, as well as nerves, that kept him back. The V'rel part of their mind was swarming with conflicting emotions, and now was really not the time.
The choice wasn't a tough one in their eyes, but of course, V'rel and Kaloath were horribly biased. Rejection wasn't a thought that passed through their mind as Kaloath flew on, catching an air current to try and spend less energy. There was no telling how much longer this flight would go on, and his stamina was going to be at it's limit unless he figured out how to spend less energy. Catching the air currents and gliding smoothly along after Amath was a good idea, but there was still a limit on how long that would last. While longer flights meant bigger clutches, he felt tired, and he was not going to suffer the humiliation of dropping out. Kaloath was in this until the end.
While Kaloath had never been one to take risks, he spun in the air along with Amath, getting into this flight more and more. It was going to end soon, he could feel it. V'rel could feel it, and he was sure Sephiroth and C'ero could feel it. She was slowing, although this wasn't really a sign that the Flight was ending... it was a test, he was sure of it. Amath wanted them to come closer, and of course, pushy Sephiroth had already decided to take that chance. Not wanting to be shown up, Kaloath flapped a few times to get a little higher, gliding a little bit above her. He crooned a "song" of his love for her, but didn't make a move. No, he would know the right time to swoop in and join with Amath in the sky.
