Name: T'rin
Age: 19
Rank: Weyrling Master
Sexuality: Bisexual
Family: Mother Tavani, Father Varin, Sister Vemaki
Birthplace: Southern Hold
Appearance: T'rin is about 5'7'' in height, meaning he's around average. Not too tall, not too short. He's very nicely built, although T'rin is not very muscular. He's got more of a light form, very thin and not very thick. His arms and legs are around average length, and they don't make him look like a tall tree or a stumpy... tree. While he doesn't look like he has any muscles, T'rin actually does have quite a bit of strength, though it's pretty much impossible to tell. He tends to get taken advantage of this way, as he doesn't really look like a strong boy. However he's not body-builder strong... but he can carry his own weight.
His hair is cropped short, though it's not a buzz cut. His hair still has some life to it, though he gets annoyed with it if it gets too long, so he keeps it at about a medium length. He does have very nice hair, though, and it's very soft and smooth. If he were to grow it out, he'd probably look like those girls on the shampoo commercials, another reason as to why he crops it short. However, unlike the girls on the shampoo commercials, T'rin has some side-burns that reach about halfway down his face. Usually his hair covers them, though. T'rin eyes are a dark brown, almost black. He generally has a very annoyed look on his face, with his eyes narrowed and such.
The 19 Turn old's skin is somewhat dark, as he is one who tans easily, and as a Dragonrider of course he spends a lot of time out in the sun. Without the proper lotion, though, he tends to burn easily as well, though T'rin is paranoid and tends to wear lotion all the time. Even if it isn't sunny out, T'rin will probably apply lots of lotion, as he's very paranoid about burning and does not like pain.
Generally, T'rin will wear whatever he can find in his trunk first. He doesn't particularly care about "fashion" or even looking good, so he's lucky his hair looks fine without having to do any work, as he rarely ever brushes it. T'rin also tends to wear the same thing quite a few times in a row, not really caring if it's dirty or not. When asked, he merely says that he has three of the same outfit, though that's not the truth. Usually no one notices though, as who really cares what a rider is WEARING anyway?
Personality: In one word, T'rin can be described as... calm. He rarely gets excited, although he does get amused quite often. However, most of the time, T'rin is very calm and collected, and he can be easy in even the scariest of situations. In fact, even when he used to Stand at Hatchings he would be one of the calmest there. T'rin just doesn't see the big deal in getting excited or overly nervous. He doesn't really see the big deal in anything. However, this doesn't mean he isn't a happy person. T'rin is usually in a bad mood though, due to certain events and people that majorly bother him.
While he doesn't get excited very easily, T'rin tends to get annoyed VERY easily. He is usually seen with a rather annoyed frown, although he's by no means rude or mean at all. T'rin just gets annoyed with the people around him, especially eccentric, happy-go-lucky girls. He would rather be sitting in his weyr staring at the ceiling rather than running outside. T'rin often complains and whines when he has to go and do something, and he's never without his sarcasm. T'rin is very cynical, and can't help but analzye everything.
Adding to his annoyed attitude, T'rin is generally a pessimist. He usually tends to imagine the worst thing possible happening, though that's rarely the case. He can get really annoying with his pessimistic views, though generally T'rin will keep them to himself. Speaking of keeping things to himself, T'rin will rarely voice his thoughts outloud, including his sarcasm. He's usually outwardly nice and patiently, though on the inside he makes all sorts of sarcastic, cynical and pessimistic comments.
On the outside, besides being annoyed, T'rin tries to be as nice and patient as he can be. He tries not to let it show when things bother him, especially when people bother him, though if they continue bothering him it'll get to the point where he won't care to be patient with them anymore. T'rin also has a weakness for girls, especially pretty ones, although lately he's starting to notice boys as well... much to his dismay. T'rin doesn't want to accept that he is bisexual, so generally he has a hard time around "pretty" boys.
History: As histories go, T'rin had a fairly easy one. He grew up in Southern Hold, and as a child he never really liked to run outside with the other kids. T'rin much prefered to stay inside and nap, and wander around the insides of the Hold, not the outside. He also was always a bit annoyed with his fellow Holdbrats and how wild they were, as he prefered calmer things to do. However, despite this, he hated reading, and was only about an average student. Of course, his name also wasn't T'rin yet, it was Tarrin, but for the sake of making this easier, he's just going to be called T'rin throughout.
He spent most of his time as a child alone, and he never really had a lot of friends. Sure, he knew the other Holdbrats by name and sight, but he didn't really care to know more than that. When he was about 7 years old, his parents had another baby, and his sister Vemaki was born. He loved her with all his heart, and he wanted to spend a lot of time with her. She was his sister, afterall. They grew up wandering around the Hold together, but Vemaki was a lot more adventurous and wild than T'rin ever was.
Eventually, T'rin had turned 14, and Vemaki was 7. Even though she was a lot younger than he was, T'rin never really cared. They were as close as siblings could be, although they did have their fights every once and a while. However, when T'rin turned 16, a Searchrider came to the Hold, searching out some Candidates for the next Hatching. Vemaki told T'rin to go, as he really didn't want to. Why would he be Searched, anyway? He was boring, and his life was uninteresting. Searchriders picked far more interested Candidates than he would ever be. However, his sister wanted to go, so T'rin ended up following her, well, more like he was dragged there.
Of course, as 7 year olds can't be Searched, Vemaki was out of luck. T'rin, however, was not. The Searchrider immediately picked him out of the crowd of people, and T'rin got quite a few envious stares from his fellow Holdbrats, and they didn't even know his name. T'rin refused the Search, and went back to his sister, who looked like she was about to cry. She told him that she would never forgive him if he didn't go Impress a dragon, and T'rin couldn't stand to see his sister cry. So reluctantly, T'rin agreed to go to the Weyr, and it was probably the first time in his life he thought he might cry. He left the Hold and was on his way to Vyrzen Weyr.
T'rin's first Hatching was uneventful, at least, for him. In fact, for the next two years, T'rin would Stand at uneventful Hatchings. He was beginning to give up hope, and was even considering going back to the Hold to do something productive with his time rather than Stand at Hatchings he wasn't going to Impress at. That was not meant to me, as at T'rin's "last" Hatching, he finally Impressed Jade Ophith.
That was three turns ago, although as with almost all Dragonriders, T'rin can still remember when he first Impressed. It turned out that Ophith was a superb Searchdragon, and he could pick out potential Candidates before they had even seen the Hold. This was how T'rin met Alyana. The girl had come from a Hold they had been Searching, and of course, Ophith had noticed her aura. She was the only girl from that Hold that Opith sensed, and of course T'rin invited her to the Weyr. Alyana excitedly agreed, and this was the start of Hell for T'rin.
She was constantly trying to involve him in her little schemes and plots, and T'rin really had no choice but to go with, as she was very... persistant. Not to mention that usually she'd just drag him around. Alyana was also the one who got T'rin into the position of Weyrling Master, as he really didn't want to. She had said it'd be... fun, even if she didn't Impress. Unluckily for T'rin, she did, and he was going to have a Hell of a time with this batch of Weyrlings....
Dragon
Dragon Name: Ophith
Color: Jade
Age: 3 Turns
Appearance:
Personality: Ophith is in a word, fatherly. If he were a Queen, you can bet Ophith would be the best Clutchmother around. However, he isn't a Queen... so he has to be fatherly instead. Ophith loves to take care of other people and dragon, and he's also very, VERY good at sensing other's feelings, and yes, this means other people besides T'rin. He can almost instantly tell when someone is upset or mad, and he always has the urge to try and make things better. Due to his little abillity to sense others feelings, he makes an excellent Searchdragon. As explained in T'rin's history, Ophith can sense a good Candidate from miles away, and nearly every single one of the Candidates he Searched have Impressed.
Like his rider, Ophith is not a very excitable dragon. He's rather cool and collected, although he is far less easily annoyed. Ophith is always the level-headed mediater, and in the three turns they've been together, T'rin had yet to see Ophith angry at anyone. Not to mention that Ophith is also a very intelligent dragon, and he has a far longer memory than most of the other dragons. He is capable of having an intelligent conversation with others, although T'rin isn't really one for discussing the matters of the universe.
Pets[/u]
Name: Roy
Species: Fire-Lizard
Color: Onyx
Appearance:
Personality: If Roy is anything, he's a womanizer. If fire-lizards can be womanizers, really. He won't resist the urge to flirt with ANY female, regardless of her rank or color. He has actually flown quite a few wild females, although T'rin happily never found the Clutches those flights resulted in, or he probably would have ripped his hair out in frustration. In fact, Roy has tried to flirt with female dragons as well, though obviously that didn't go over very well for him. Roy is also a rather big Onyx, and that's saying something. However, despite his size, he's very thin and light, and doesn't cause much of a problem for T'rin to hold him.
Under his womanizing exterior, Roy is actually quite the intelligent little flitter. He's also very, very prideful, and takes any job he's given with great pride and responsibility. Due to this, he's excellent at delivering notes and notices to the Weyrlings, and he never gets distracted or lost. He knows how to get serious. Roy is also an excellent threadfighter, although we haven't exactly had a chance to see that yet.
