Name: Celestia
Age: 20
Rank: Senior Weyr Woman
Family: None living.
Birthplace: Southern Hold
Appearance: Celestia has always been tall, appearing much older then she actually is. Her skin is burnt to a nice shade of copper from growing up on the Southern Continent, and working mostly outdoors. Her sage green eyes are intelligent for a girl who was raised by just her mother and had no teachings from Harpers.
Copper hair accents her strong facial features, the waving copper locks cropped short to just below her ears. This brings out her dark eyelashes, sharp cheekbones, and strong jaw. Not the most attractive face for a woman, but it shows her strong character and unbreaking spirit. She is among the tallest women of the Weyr. Her arms are thin but well corded with lean muscle.
Upon first appearance she would not seem too much of a threat, if the great Silver Amath were not present anyway. However, if you would look close you might think twice about crossing her. Numerous scars line her hands, arms, face, and really most of her body, from having to protect herself when she lived at the Hold as an innocent young girl with no family to protect her.
Personality: Strong willed and confident, she fits her rank as Senior Weyr Woman. Able to fend for herself, she will defend her opinions at all cost and stick up for those few she claims as friends. Quiet unless she needs to speak, she prefers to observe things then jump into a fight, but she will if she has to. She does not listen to what people say about her, though many of the Holders and even some of the Weyrfolk speak unkindly about her behind her back, disliking her for gaining such power at such a young age.
Since coming to the Weyr she has spent much time trying to teach herself things like reading and writing, the things she missed being a poor washer girl in Southern Hold. Often you can find her on the beach with her nose in a book, if she has no duties to attend to. Rather withdrawn, she keeps to herself or her small group of friends most of the time, distancing herself from the majority of the weyr. Though most do not know it, this is due to her trying to keep the rumors the holder's throw around about her from affecting the other's reputations and status's. She is generally a kind and caring person, taking care of others before herself. But when she loses her temper, it would be best to stay out of her way. Anyone who would trigger her anger, which is rather difficult, would not enjoy the outcome.
History: Celestia grew up in Southern hold, working as a washer girl for the holder's clothing. She was born and raised there, although her mother died when Cele was only 10. She never knew her father, so Cele was forced to grow up fast and find a way to make her own living, since her mother was her only family.
She was an only child, although her mother did not spoil her as most parents do with only one child. This was most likely because, being a single mother, she had very little time for young Celestia. The girl quickly realized that, and started to help her mother with the laundry she was paid to clean for the holders. This earned Cele some spending money of her own, which she spent most of betting on runner races.
When her mother died from an unknown health problem, Cele took over her washing business. It was hard to make a living with the little pitiful amount the holders paid her for their washing, but she managed to get by. When she turned thirteen, however, a Searchrider only about two years older then her, named Sh'ven, came to her hold looking for candidates.
Finding her a decent candidate for the new Weyr, he took her Vyrzen to stand at their Hatchings. The first one she went to, she failed to Impress, and went to work in the kitchens until such time as another clutch was on the sands. When she turned seventeen, she finally Impressed silver Amath. Being the only silver rider present at Vyrzen then, aside from the Sr. Queen, she was appointed Jr. Queen and trained to take the place of the woman who had lead the Weyr since it started.
Right after turning nineteen, the Sr. Queen and her Rider both fell ill. A clutch had just been laid of the sands by Verilith, but this did not stop the old Silver from betweening when her rider died of the illness. This left Celestia in charge, and she and Amath guarding the clutch until it would hatch.
Riders only;
Dragon colouring: Silver
Dragon Name: Amath
Dragon Rank: Sr. Queen
Dragon Personality: Amath is much like her Bonded, strong and confident in her ways. More outspoken and social then Celestia, Amath prefers to be somewhere close to the center of attention. Perhaps slightly conceited, Amath adores compliments and attention, roaming the beach and flying over the Weyr when Cele is occupied with her reading or some Weyr business.
The silver also much enjoys the ocean, where she tends to find the most interesting conversations with the Dolphins. This is one of her favourite pass-times, and if any of the Weyr-folk can not find her in the skys or her weyr, they know she is out in the water with the Dolphins, having some complicated discussion about the land creatures. Amath tends to mother over everything, taking her rank as senior queen very seriously. She watched over the young dragons as if they were from her own clutches, even though she has yet to rise.
