It wasn’t often that the jungle saw any sort of life other than the native flora and fauna, but a massive shadow was passing over the trees and caused a spot of alarm down below. The jungle would soon know the presence of dragon and humankind as Sephiroth glided overhead on thermals, watching the treetops carefully for signs of danger. His still wasn’t talking to him after what happened at the flitter hatching, but as the saying goes, no news is good news. He was feeling more optimistic that C’ero would resume speaking with him soon as he had ceased insulting him not too long ago. In any case, this lack of contact with His had given him some time to get used to the flitters. They weren’t as bad as he had thought (Though Dratini was still annoying.) and he found that he could tolerate them as long as they did not deliberately get on his nerves.
/Land down there./ C’ero said, gesturing to an empty clearing in the distance. He tightened his grip on the bag slung over his shoulder, then the dagger belted at his side. He may have just been there for research, but if they were attacked by a wild animal… Yes, Sephiroth was a frightening fellow, but the dagger was a precaution. /Are you talking to me again, Mine?/ The Onyx asked in amusemet as he banked the left, backwinging to land gracefully in the clearing. /Or is this your evil twin?/ He added with a chuckle, extending his foreleg to allow His to dismount. C’ero only scowled and dismounted, dropping his bag on the ground with an audible thump. “I’ll talk to you when I need to.” He snapped as he began to unpack his things, setting up equipment, bowls, anything you could think of. He was here on business, but his flitters didn’t seem to know that.
Dragonair tugged at his ear in frustration which caused Dratini to mimic her sister and do the same. They were merely swatted away and, after creeling indignantly, both firelizards fled to perch atop Sephiroth’s head where they sat like hood ornaments on a car. /You are upsetting the little ones. The Onyx stated simply without emotion. /What happened has happened and you cannot change it. You are alive and well, as is V’rel, as much as I wish he wasn’t, and so is the Weyrwoman. Let it go./ C’ero grunted in agreement, but was finding it easier said than done.

Another hot day was passing by with everyone just sitting in their weyrs hiding from the heat, with nothing to do and nowhere to go. Everyone shut themselves away until it grew dark and cooler, sitting quietly inside, reading or -in the cases of the riders- speaking with their Bondeds, or sleeping. Some might seek refuge in the kitchens, where they could find a cool drink.
To be honest, it was driving Celestia insane.
So, after pacing her weyr for a good amount of time, she turned to her Queen with a sigh of frustration. -Amath, dear, I will go utterly insane if I must stay inside for one more sharding moment! I can't take this sitting around, trying to avoid the heat. I LIKE this weather. Oh please, lets go for a flight or something, at least? I can not stay here for another second, and if you wont come I'll go without you!- Her mind-voice was harsh and irritated as she spoke to her Bonded silver, who was only half awake. Really, she normally was not like this with her dear Amath, but the queen had been sitting in her weyr all day and it was driving her rider insane.
The silver lifted her head, blinking her lids as her eyes whirred drowsily. -Mine, must we? I do not like being outside in the heat.- She paused, looking pleadingly at her Rider. The look Cele gave her was all the answer she got. The Queen may have been her Bonded, and certainly she was being this way because she was soon to rise, but that did not mean she could just lay about like this all the time! With a rumbling sigh, the great Silver uncurled herself and flicked her tail at Cele. -Fine, I shall go. But we will not stay out long.- She spoke dryly in their mind, as she left the weyr, Cele following happily behind.
The Senior Weyrwoman had abandoned her common clothing for something lighter, confident enough in her riding skills that she disregarded her Wherry-hide riding gear. They were only going on a short flight, so she would not need anything. Although she did strap a dagger to her side. You never knew when you might need one....
Climbing atop Amath, she looked about. As always, most everyone was inside away from the worst of the heat. -Shall we go fly over the jungle, my dear? It might be cool there, if we find a place to land within the trees.- She suggested, as Amath took to the sky. The Silver only rumbled agreement, already winging for the vast green expanse of the Jungle. It did not take them long at all until they ended up winging along over the huge green trees. Amath banked, flying lower as something caught her interest below them.
-Mine, C'ero and Sephiroth are in a clearing below. Can we go and see them?- Amath asked, attention locked on the Onyx nearby. Cele left out a sigh. She was hoping the Silver would rise soon, as she was horribly tired of Amath's constant wish to be around the few Onyxs that were housed at Vyrzen. -Fine, we'll go and say Hello. At least I might have a decent conversation with C'ero while you flirt with Sephiroth.- She conceded. Instantly Amath tucked her wings, going into a slow dive to land in the clearing where C'ero had gone for his research. Cele hastily dismounted, so Amath could make her way over to Sephiroth. The Weyrwoman let out a tormented sigh before walking over to greet C'ero. "Hello. Amath and I were out for a flight, and the silly creature insisted she wanted to come and say hello to Seph. I hope we're not interrupting anything?" She stated, watching Amath carefully even as she spoke to C'ero. The Silver's hide was enough to tell anyone she would Rise any day, and Cele was still rather worried about the upcoming Flight.

Sephiroth's sulking ended quickly upon sighting Amath in the distance, her hide indicating that her Flight was imminent. /Amath and Hers come, Mine./ The Onyx informed his rider, his tone indicating the excitement that he would never show. As if trying to make sure the Silver wouldn't be bothered, the dragon shooed Dratini and Dragonair away like the little pests they were. Even if he could tolerate the little things, who could say that Amath would (He had seemingly forgotten about Jasper)? He wanted her to see him as a potential suitor, not as a flitter perch. It wasn’t long before the pair had touched down and he wasted no time in crooning his greeting to her, stretching his wings out impressively for her to see. /You are looking lovely today, dear Amath./ He told her flatteringly. He had plenty where that came from, but it would do for now.
Shaking his head, C’ero stood up from where he had previously been sitting to set up a trap. Wiping the sweat from his forehead on his sleeve, he replied, “Not really. I’m just here to conduct some research that will hopefully help me cure a bug that’s been going around. Things were quiet so we decided to go out for a bit, but with my luck three women will go into labor, someone will cut a limb off and half the Weyrlings will drown or something.” He said wryly, though he meant it completely in jest, even if his luck was that bad. It had happened to him before, but that was another story completely. Dratini and Dragonair chirped their greetings to the Weyrwoman from where they sat on C’ero’s shoulders and promptly curled up to go to sleep, making C’ero’s work five times harder.
Taking a moment to glance at Amath, he couldn’t help but say, “She looks close to rising.” That much was obvious, but that brought into question the circumsatances of the Flight itself. There were only two Onyx’s for the Queen to choose from, and that was assuming Kaloath chased her as well (There was no question as to Sephiroth’s involvement. He meant to chase even if he was near death.). It was a bit troubling, just as the potential to become Weyrleader. But there was still time for it to be decided, so he was simply going to roll with the punches. There was no use worrying over something that wasn’t even happening yet.

Cele settled herself to lean against a tree, eyes still lingering on the gleaming silver hide of her bonded. She blinked a moment, then grinned at C'ero. "A bug? I hope it's not too bad. And I would hope half the Weyrlings don't drown, they may still be a bit clumsy and awkward but I don't think they'd be stupid enough to go into a deep enough part of the ocean to drown." She laughed, trying to take her attention off Amath. However, it was difficult. Since the Queen had been showing signs of her imminent Flight, the Weyrwoman had been constantly watching her so the Flight would not take her by surprise. After all, this was Amath's first Flight...
The silver meanwhile was preening happily for Sephiroth. As usual. -Sephiroth, you're so kind. And you are looking well today yourself.- She replied, crooning softly to him. She settled herself down carefully just as Jasper betweened above her, peeping and fluttering around her head once before darting off to perch on Cele's shoulder, giving a cheep of greeting to C'ero's two flits. Amath snorted with amusement at the flits antics before turning to look at Sephiroth, eyes whirring playfully. She really did enjoy taunting the Onyx.
Cele rolled her eyes at Amath's behavior. "Really, she is turning into such a self absorbed airhead. If she isn't flirting with Seph or Kaloath, she is sleeping. I will be glad when she rises, and goes back to being her normal self. Her behavior has me on edge. Especially since this is her first Flight. I'm rather nervous about this." She frowned at C'ero, finally managing to tear her eyes off Amath. Her hand automatically came up to scratch Jasper when he landed on her shoulder, bringing a content croon from the little Jade. At least he was almost normal. Amath's behavior did not seem to be affecting him that much.

(Sorry for the shortness.)
C’ero was hardly an emotional person, but considering what was about to occur, he could sympathize with Celestia. Her Queen was about to rise for the first time and there were only two dragon to choose from, Sephiroth and Kalaoth. V’rel had a screw or two loose and he wasn’t much better, but that was it, two Onyx dragons for one queen. It was a raw deal if you asked him, but he wasn’t the one who had to deal with Amath. Sighing, he came to stand beside the Weyrwoman as Dratini and Dragonair flitted about Jasper’s head, trying to entice him into playing. “It’ll all be over soon, and you know Seph and I will be there. Seph wouldn’t miss this if I died.” The Weyrhealer snorted as he flicked his gaze over to the flirting dragons.
“It’s actually hard for me to believe that Sephiroth is actually INTERESTED in chasing Amath as he’s usually so self centered.” He added, watching as the big dragon continued to flaunt his physical strength. He was so difficult to deal with sometimes and C’ero felt like he hardly knew the Onyx when that happened.
/Why, thank you, Amath, though you are most definitely looking at the peak of health./ Sephiroth replied as he circled the Silver playfully. As he watched how she interacted with Jasper, he almost wished that he hadn’t sent Dratini and Dragonair away. Almost. He could do without them. She was going to be looking at him, not the silly little flitterbys that followed him around.

Cele attempted to grin at C'ero. Really, just talking to him was nice. There was not much time she got to just sit and talk to one of the riders of the Weyr, as She was almost always taking care of something in the Weyr. "You have NO idea how hard it is to put up with her right now. Although, if he is that determined to chase her, Seph must be driving you insane as well." She laughed, turning her attention once more back to the Dragons as Jasper gave a challenging coo and took to the air quickly, trying to get Dratini and Dragonair to play tag with him.
Amath had begun watching the flits, acting as if she were not paying attention to Sephiroth while every inch of her mass was tensed and more focused on him then anything. Keeping her eyes on the flits was just another way to taunt him. Cele frowned at her dragon. "Well, Amath is really self-centered right now anyway. I guess they'd get along well, then." She laughed, shaking her head at the actions of her dragon. It was very obvious the Silver was only trying to taunt Sephiroth, and yet Amath acted like it was some great secret.
- Mine, you laugh at me. This is not funny. I like Sephiroth, so why must you laugh at me?[/color]- The silver's mind-voice rang through Cele's head with a slight pout to it. It really only caused to make the Weyrwoman laugh more. -Amath, really. I can't help it. You look rather silly right now.- Celestia replied to her dragon, still grinning.
(sorry, short. xD I'm tired, and Amath being as she is is just making me laugh. So my thinking is not too great. xDD)

Lillana flapped her wings hard, racing as fast as she could into the jungle. Her keeper had told her to look for the big Onyx dragon, so she was searching for it. The Healer C'ero was with the big Onyx, and She needed him. She couldn't come back without him, She said. This was a difficult mission for her - so many things! Find the dragon, then find the Healer, then bring him back! What would she do to get him to come? Her eyes focused on a clearing. The big Onyx! And C'ero. And the Silver Queen with her rider! Oh, oh, oh! This was unexpected!
The flitter flew up to the Healer and started nipping at his shirt, thinking images of Her with her chest bleeding through bandages, hoping that the Onyx would pay her attention and see what was happening. But she was not wild! How would she prove that to them? She would wait to see what they did. Oh, the Onyx would have to prove it to them! This was not going well.

At this, C'ero burst out laughing, something that rarely happened at all. He never laughed about anything, even if it really WAS funny. It just wasn't in his nature, yet he laughed anyway. "Yes, they would be perfect for each other with the way they're both acting. To be honest, there have been a few times I've actually considered knocking myself out so I don't have to listen to Sephiroth go on about how strong his is and how lovely Amath is, no offense, but it really does become tiring after hearing it ALL DAY." He finished with a positively murderous glare at the Onyx who shrugged it off will all of the finess he could muster. Honestly, how could one dragon be such a pain in the ass all of the time? The dragon was in a class all his own...
In the meantime, Sephiroth had noticed Lillana out of the corner of his eye, but had disregarded her for the most part. Sharding flitters... Dratini and Dragonair, on the other hand, did not. Curious, they flew up to meet the Copper and, upon realising that she was their clutchsister, greeted her rather warmly. It took them a bit to notice the worry in her mind, but it was clear when she started tugging at C'ero's shirt that something was wrong. Quickly, they relayed the message more clearly to Him, then to Sephiroth, who finally gave His an intelligible defination to the situation. /That silly weyrling Kisana has torn her stitches. We are needed./ He said simply.
"Shardit..." C'ero sighed as he began packing his things for the return to Vyzren. "I told you something like this would happen." He said to Celestia wyrly over his shoulder. "Some higher power hates me and doesn't want me to get anything done."

Lillana's eyes were slowing down now. He was coming back, so She would be okay. But what if Lillana was too late and She didn't get fixed? But it would be her fault! Why didn't she fly faster? She rammed her head into C'ero's back. 'Hurryhurry!' She thought to the big Onyx. He would hear her. She was going to die and then there would be no one! He needed to hurry and fix Her! She was in trouble, didn't they understand? Her coppery tail flicked towards her clutchsisters. 'Go, rush, go!' Her mind flashed with images of Him fixing Kisa with the shiny things and the long things and the cloth things.
